Our challenge was to redesign and manage Save a Lot’s large portfolio of private label brands and output its product offerings under the new design system developed by our agency.

Our team consisted of approximately 8 designers, 4 interns, a creative director and 4 project managers, working in tandem with the on-site team at Save a Lot. The initial creative and brand designs were done by our agency but in a different department. Our team was responsible for managing numerous brand guidelines and design systems, performing competitive analysis with leading national brands, leveraging lead concepts and building out the remaining products and solving for design and production problems.

As an Intern & Junior Adaptive Designer, I was responsible for:

  • lead executions and roll outs - leveraging lead creative concepts to design and build files for all variations (e.g. flavors and sizes) for a given product line

  • print production - create print-ready packaging files that adhere to strict quality control specifications

  • brand guidelines and design systems - help maintain and contribute to an evolving brand guideline and internal design system and asset library

  • creative problem solving - providing design solutions to overcome issues that arise from regulatory, production and brand requirements that were not addressed by initial creative

The gallery below provides examples of a select few products that I had the opportunity to work on before being moved to a different client in January of 2020.
